As his kinfolk, friendships, sexuality or even his flavor in song and pornography start to believe far-off from him, his alienation expands. The issues that after intended every little thing to him are stripped of an essence he starts off to doubt they ever had. He fixates on a profile of a boy that he unearths on the web, projecting illusory rules upon somebody that he hasn't ever met yet feels a profound intimacy with. Feeling increasingly more misplaced, he makes an attempt to see the relationship among a disparate set of coincidences, gadgets and occasions: a lifeless, mangled chook, the funeral of his top friend’s father, a awful adventure with LSD, obsessive sexual fantasies and the disintegrating suburban lifestyles within which he used to be raised. Part of me wants to put a hand out and flip the bird over so that I can see the worms and the way that its feathers are covering blank bones and tiny bits of rotted flesh and shit. I don't though, because I think I'm scared to, or it just creeps me out thinking about the germs and the stuff that I don't know whether or not to expect underneath its broken body. A woman walks past so I turn away from the bird and pretend to be doing my shoelaces. She gives me this look that I can't figure out exactly so I just stare at my feet and pretend to fiddle with a knot until she's gone.
My dad has hidden a couple more under a work bench. It seems stupid to hide two of them, like knowing he'd got through 10 would be worse than knowing he'd got through 8. It suggests a totally skewered sense of shame. He was drunk when he hid them, so they're easy to spot. The carrier bag that they're in is unravelling slowly. Maybe he keeps them for an emergency although I have trouble trying to work out what the emergency would be. No doubt something emotional. My dad would sleep there all day if nobody wakes him.
The basketball sounds like a tribal drum and the boy looks like a warrior. His face is red and his blonde hair looks sweaty. He just cursed. He looks taller than before. People age and others hardly notice. I'm sticking with the silhouette for now. I can find a picture to use later on. I'm just setting up the basics. I notice a picture of a girl lying on a bed. She's wearing a pink bra. Her hand must be holding a camera. Her face is trying to do something, look appealing or whatever it can manage.
